We were born at the beginning of the 90's transporting LPG among Peruvian ports. Transgas Shipping was exclusively dedicated to LPG transportation along the Peruvian coast with eventually voyages to Chile and Ecuador.
In 1998, we started to pursue international markets, reaching important trading areas in the East and West Coast of South America, the Caribbean region and nowadays in the Far East and Oceania.
At Transgas Shipping our main concern is constantly replace and upgrade our fleet as a reliable response to the challenges and demands of new markets and tomorrow’s regulations.
Our first vessel was named Transgas I, a 918 cbm semiref vessel, used in our first operation in Peru. This ship was moved to Peru to replace a small LPG Barge that sailed between ports of Talara and Callao on the Peruvian Pacific Coast for PetroPeru business.
We sold the first vessel in July 1993, and replaced it with Taurogas of 1450 cbm ship. A year later, we added vessel Libragas, a 1,620 cbm, and later we added Capricornio Gas of 2,500 cbm, that substantially strengthened our operating capacity in Peru. Afterwards, the expansion of operation areas to worldwide service follows with the purchase of Balina from Yara.
Today, Transgas has its own fleet of gas and oil tankers and other tonnage in combination with others valuable partners for the provision of maritime transport services. We provide in-house commercial and technical management services for all of the vessels in our fleet as well as ships from other shipping companies (Third Party Management). We are also a maritime service provider in the bunkering and STS operations.
